Venice Beach California
Some people go for the luxurious hotels and the pleasure of having someone else make the bed and clean the bathroom.
Some people go for the fancy food and potent drinks served at the beachside restaurants.
Another favorite pastime is looking through all the tacky merchandise on sale with the forlorn hope of finding something that will turn into a family heirloom.
And there is always the temptation, especially if you had a little more beer than usual with your lunch, to take home a souvenir that would shock and surprise your sainted mother.
My pleasure at the beach is the simple walkabout with camera in hand.
First I do a little walking then a little resting on a beach side bench then I top it off with another leisurely stroll.
